Tata Sierra – The Legend Returns The new Tata Sierra has been designed to honour its legendary predecessor while redefining what a modern Indian SUV can be. It is not a replica of the past, but a re-interpretation of its soul, a bridge between heritage and the future. It stands apart as a halo product, one that leads the next chapter of the company’s design. Clean surfaces replace ornamentation, while its proportions, long wheelbase, upright stance, and powerful shoulders emphasize its characterful stance. Every element serves a purpose: to express capability, aspiration, and timeless appeal.
The Sierra’s exterior design reinterprets the unmistakable silhouette of the original. Its iconic threequarter
glasshouse has been reimagined using a panoramic roof, flush glazing, and a black-painted
roof finisher. This maintains the light, airy character of the original while meeting today’s safety and
aerodynamic standards. The stance has been meticulously balanced. A planted silhouette conveys
strength and elegance in equal measure. The long wheelbase, optimised roofline and increased width
deliver better aerodynamics and visual balance, while clean, uncluttered surfacing ensures
timelessness. At the front, the Sierra features the Light Saber, a full-width LED DRL that forms a single,
seamless curve across the fascia. This lighting signature, mirrored in the slim rear light bar, expresses
technological precision and unbroken continuity. Complementing it are R19 alloy wheels, flush door
handles, and gloss black cladding that together establish a confident, modern stance. The Clamshell
tailgate, wide rear haunches, and floating-roof effect give it a powerful yet sophisticated road
presence. The front grille and hidden wipers coupled to the powered tailgate balances aesthetic purity
with function.
Interior Design: The Living Room Philosophy
Inside, the Sierra imagines The Life Space. Inspired by the common lounge space our patrons share
across generations, it creates a living room on wheels experience. The TheatrePro multi-screen setup
features a Horizon View screen layout, offering personalised digital experiences for both driver and
passenger. It also integrates with the SonicShaft Soundbar with JBL Black 12-speaker system which
when combined with the Dolby Atmos, transforms the cabin into a serene acoustic experience. The
PanoraMax – largest sunroof plus surround view glasshouse, recreates the openness of the original
Sierra’s glass canopy. The cabin architecture is horizontal and calming, accentuating width and
openness. Materials have been carefully curated for their tactility, natural hues, and subtle metallic
accents. Ambient mood lighting and the PanoraMax flood the space with light. Together, they create
a sense of warmth and serenity.

The Sierra’s design excellence has been recognised globally by winning the prestigious Red Dot Design
Award. In 2025, the jury consisted of 15 experts from 13 countries. This reaffirms Tata Motors’ position
