The eagerly awaited Triumph Bonneville 400 has been spotted undergoing tests overseas, flaunting a design that strongly resembles the larger Bonneville T100. This new entrant into the Triumph lineup embodies the classic retro vibe, featuring a distinctive teardrop-shaped fuel tank, sleek side panels, and elongated front and rear fenders. While it holds onto a timeless silhouette, it cleverly incorporates modern elements like round LED lighting for the headlights, indicators, and taillights. The bike is also equipped with a sleek single-sided exhaust in a matte black finish, enhancing its vintage charm.

Focusing on comfort and usability, the Bonneville 400 is built with ergonomics in mind. It comes with a traditional telescopic fork paired with fork gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers, creating a setup aimed at delivering a smooth ride without breaking the bank. The riding position is comfortably relaxed, featuring elevated handlebars and centrally placed footpegs, making it ideal for both everyday city rides and longer adventures.

Under the hood, the performance is expected to be powered by a 400cc liquid-cooled engine, similar to what’s found in the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, typically offering around 40 PS and 37 Nm of torque. However, due to recent tax changes and strategic market considerations, there are suggestions that this model might debut in India with a more affordable 350cc engine. This adjustment is geared towards keeping pricing competitive in the face of established contenders like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350, Honda CB350 H’ness, and Jawa 350.

Mark your calendars, as the Bonneville 400 is set to officially launch in India around June 2026. A starting price of approximately ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), positions it as a desirable premium contender within the popular retro-classic category. With its mix of iconic British styling and contemporary performance, the Bonneville 400 is poised to become a noteworthy player in the mid-capacity motorcycle market.
