Mahindra’s Mini Bolero was in the talks for some time now. Rumors suggested that the new Bolero will change but it won’t be substantially different from the old SUV. The wheelbase was not suppose to change, but the length would be chopped of for ducking into the sub four meter mark. The new 1.5 3-cylinder diesel engine has made it to the engine bay and makes more power than the 2.5 litre motor which is clearly very good signs for efficiency in every way. 2016 Mahindra Bolero Power Plus Engine, Gearbox, Automatic and Mileage
Engine wise, there is a major change. We believe Mahindra has given the car the new 1.5 3-cylinder diesel engine with this new sub four meter Bolero. The engine makes 70 BHP of power and 195 Nm of torque which is way more than the bigger displacement engine. This should clearly take the fuel efficiency numbers to be better than before by a huge margin. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox, which has been revised. Mileage is rated at 16.5 km/l.

The design largely continues to be the same on the outside. The front-end has a new grille along with new bumpers. headlamp and tail lamps get minor revision to make sure it stands out. However, the main stand point isn’t the styling, but is the fact that Mahindra isn’t highlighting that this new vehicle is a sub four meter mini Bolero! Wheelbase remains identical and it will be exactly the same on the inside and outside as before. However, the look on the outside will make sure this is the new sub four meter SUV.

2016 Mahindra Bolero Power Plus Interiors and Features
Interiors continue to be similar with minor changes. Seat fabric has changed, there is a new steering wheel, the power window switches are new and so is the new gear knob. 7-Seater layout also continues with the Bolero. The feature set includes the similar instrument cluster which is digital. Engine immobilizer, a new micro hybrid system and Mahindra is also offering a 3 Year, 1 Lakh kilometer warranty.

Launch happened in the month of September 2016 and prices start 6.89 Lakhs for the SLE variant. There is the SLX and ZLX on offer as well.
