Dealers confirm, the 2018 Volvo S90 Momentum Variant is now on sale and we have the list of missing features
Volvo has now launched a second variant for the S90 for the Indian market which is known as the S90 Momentum. This new variant is now the entry-level model which sits under the top trim variant- D4 Inspection. This new trim level is priced at Rs 51.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom, India), but in comparison with the top spec model, the new S90 Momentum is cheaper by Rs 7.0 lakh.
Aesthetically, on the outside, the S90 Momentum gets a piano black finish on the front grille and it also comes fitted with circular exhaust tips. Whereas on the inside, Volvo has equipped the S90 Momentum with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, auto parking system, digital gauges, rear parking camera and front and rear parking sensors.
In terms of safety, Volvo is offering this variant with six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill start assist, ISOFIX seats and adaptive cruise control which also gets pilot assist feature. Under the hood, of the Volvo S90 Momentum is a 2.0 litre D4 diesel unit which comes matted with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This diesel unit is capable of generating 190 horsepower.
But the S90 Momentum also misses out on many features such as hands-free tailgate opening, front seat ventilation, massage function, Bowers and Wilkins sound system, foldable rear seats and heads up display. In term of safety, it misses out on Blind Spot Assist. In addition to this, the S90 Momentum also does not get air suspension, paddle shifters and driving modes.
The Volvo S90 locks its horns with the Mercedes E-Class, Jaguar XF, BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6 in the Indian market. With the launch of the new entry-level variant for the S90, Volvo aims to increase the sales figures which will also to help compete against its rivals.
