2019 Maruti Baleno Facelift is a minor revision to the car to keep fresh and relevant with little to no mechanical changes

Maruti Suzuki India Limited today unveiled India’s most preferred premium hatchback, Baleno with a new, bolder look. Taking ahead the Liquid Flow Design, the new Baleno has been conceptualized for.

The new Baleno builds a sporty and elegant front fascia with wider stance. New grille with dynamic 3D detailing adds to the overall boldness. The striking change on the exterior is the new precision cut smoked two tone 16” alloy wheels, which complement the current look.

The new Baleno cockpit comes with seat fabric and black & navy blue dual-tone interiors enhance the premium-ness. The new Baleno comes with next generation ‘Smartplay Studio’ connected infotainment system. The new 17.78 cm touch infotainment system combines smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services. Its interface is customizable. In addition to listening to your music, you can surf news, get the latest weather updates and also locate eateries around you. The rear parking camera integration, navigation with live traffic and vehicle information & alerts on the screen further add to the driving convenience.

The engine and transmission choices are the same which means we continue see 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder, K-series petrol engine with an output of 83bhp and 115Nm and 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, DDiS diesel motor putting out 74bhp and 190Nm. The transmission options will include both 5-speed manual gearbox and a continuous variable transmission (CVT) gearbox. Baleno RS Facelift comes powered by a 1.0L, 3-cylinder, Boosterjet, turbocharged petrol motor making 101 BHP of power and 150 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.Baleno RS does not get an automatic gearbox option. In terms of competition, Maruti Baleno will continue to fight off the rivals like Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.

Baleno is the first vehicle from Maruti Suzuki to be offered with the “HEARTECT” platform and promises enhanced safety for its occupants. The use of high tensile steel helps to improve overall safety by making the body more rigid and stronger. Safety features including dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and brake assist, pre-tensioner and force limiter seat belts with reminder, ISOFIX child restraint system, speed alert system and rear parking sensors are standard across variants. Baleno complies with offset, side crash and pedestrian safety norms.
