2020 Lexus ES300h India Assembly Begins – Prices Drop – Gets Infotainment Features

Lexus, today reaffirmed its commitment to India by announcing local production under the parts and components category, an enhanced product portfolio and the expansion of its guest experience centre network. Since its debut in India in March 2017, Lexus has redefined luxury in the world’s fastest-growing major economy and has consistently delivered exceptional design and quality to the discerning Indian guest.

This announcement strengthens the brand’s presence in the Indian market significantly. The first model to be produced in India will be the popular world-class ES 300h, which features uncompromising performance and state-of-the art technology safety measures wrapped in Lexus’ signature refinement. Production commenced in January 2020 with the first locally produced model set to be available in India from February 2020.

Today’s announcement represents our strong commitment to not just delivering an exceptional product and experience for our guests here, but sustainably enhancing our business for greater contribution to the economy and industry in India. It also clearly shows our strong trust in the skills and craftsmanship of the Indian workforce for producing quality products,” said Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman of Lexus India.

The brand also extends its commitment to delivering exceptional vehicles for Indian guests by launching three new models – the flagship LC 500h coupe, the ES 300h Exquisite and the NX 300h Exquisite. The LC500h coupe is not only a breakthrough in hybrid electric vehicle performance, but it also showcases a seamless union of a spectacular design and craftsmanship. The brand is further expanding its portfolio by launching ES 300h Exquisite and NX 300h Exquisite, new variants of the existing ES and NX vehicles along with the LC 500h.

Rounding out the stable of developments, Lexus India also announced the launch of four new Guest Experience Centres in Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad extending the Lexus luxury experience to guests across more cities. The new Guest Experience Centres complement the existing ones in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The expansion of the Guest Experience Centre network and the new models debuting in India bring the Lexus brand to guests through exceptional engineering and experiences.

The 2.5L petrol engine (178 PS/221 Nm) with an electric motor (120 PS/202 Nm) that gets its energy from a 244.8V Hydride battery. The hybrid system offers a maximum power of 218 PS. The fuel economy rating stands at 22.58 km/l. A 0-100 takes 8.5 seconds, while the top speed is 180 km/h.

All the new models- ES 300h, NX 300h and LC 500h are BS VI compliant.
