The popular-selling new generation Suzuki Swift is all set to get its first upgrade later this this year in Japan. Leaked images of the 2021 Suzuki Swift facelift reveal an updated version of the hatchback ready to hit the markets soon. The leaked document is a brochure hinting at a launch just weeks away and reveals the revised front changes on the model. The current generation Swift is fairly new even in the global markets and the styling changes have been made to keep the model fresh without disrupting the design too much.

Cosmetic revisions on the 2021 Suzuki Swift facelift include a restyled bumper, reworked grille and new machine-cut alloy wheels. The side remains the same barring the new wheels while changes to the rear are yet to be revealed. Given the subtle changes, do not expect drastic changes over the current version at the rear with a revised bumper and taillights likely.

The leaked brochure also reveals new dual-tone paint options on the hatchback with the Flame Orange with a black roof and Rush Yellow with silver roof available. This will be in addition to the existing monotone colours that the car is offered with. Expect the cabin to remain identical but could be updated with new features, fabric upholstery and more.

2021 Suzuki Swift Facelift for Japan is likely to retain the same engine options. This includes the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with 90PS and 118Nm. There’s also the hybrid powered model with the 0.3kWh battery pack that offers an extra 10kW and 30Nm of power and torque on the model. The JDM-spec Swift also gets the 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol motor with 103PS and 150Nm of peak torque.

2021 Suzuki Swift Facelift appears launch ready for Japan but we expect the India launch to happen only sometime next year. Meanwhile, the updated model is likely to arrive in Europe by the end of 2020. For the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to get the updated Dualjet motor shared with the Baleno replacing the current 1.2-litre K-Series engine. The Swift RS though will still remain a distant dream.
