Jeep India has re-introduced the Compass Trailhawk variant in the Indian market. The off-road specific version was launched in 2017 as the top-of-the-line version but was pulled off the shelves when the facelift arrived early last year. Nevertheless, the off-road variant is finally back at an ex-showroom price of RS. 30.72 lakhs.
The 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be based on the facelifted Compass so do there is a tweaked grille, new LED headlights and fog lamps, as well as refreshed 17-inch alloy wheels as part of the package. The bumpers have also been redesigned to offer better approach and departure angles on the SUV. The Trailhawk variant though will get cosmetic upgrades to better differentiate the model. This will include grey inserts on the body, contrast black roof, an anti-glare hood decal with the Trailhawk lettering and a red tow hook at the rear.
The new Jeep Compass Trailhawk will also come with a ground clearance of 205 mm while running on Falken Wildpeak 225/60 17-inch tyres. These are a size lower compared to the 18-inch alloys on the regular Compass but offer better traction off-road. In terms of colour options, the SUV will come in five choices – Exotica Red, Bright White, Magnesio Grey, Techno Green, and Brilliant Black.
The 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will be based on the top-spec S variant, so expect all the bells and whistles from the offering. This includes the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UConnect connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument panel, wireless charging, 8-way powered, ventilated front seats and more. The SUV is also loaded on the safety front and gets six airbags, a 360-degree view camera, ESP, ERM, TPMS and more.
There are no changes in the power output with the Jeep Compass Trailhawk using the same 2.0-litre diesel engine with 170PS, while paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Trailhawk will not get a petrol heart for now, much like the pre-facelift model. Lastly, AWD will be standard on the SUV with features like Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Control, brake accelerator interlock, frequency selective damping, and traction management. It will also get terrain modes like Auto, Snow, Sand/Mud, and Rock, as well as a low-range drive system with a 20:1 crawl ratio. The new addition is the Rock mode on the Compass Trailhawk.
