Bentley Motors has introduced the Torcal, marking its fourth model line and the brand’s first fully electric vehicle. Designed, engineered, and built in Crewe with support from UK suppliers, the vehicle incorporates an 800V nominal system featuring a 113 kWh net capacity lithium-ion pouch battery. The powertrain utilizes two oil-filled, permanent magnet synchronous motors with dry sumps. The vehicle supports charging from 10% to 80% in 16 to 20 minutes at a peak rate of 400 kW, providing a range of up to 375 miles (600 km WLTP).
The vehicle measures five meters in length and includes a 460-liter boot alongside a 90-liter front storage compartment. Chassis technology includes a fully active suspension system with adaptive two-valve dampers and standard electronic all-wheel steering offering up to five degrees of rear steering angle, resulting in an 11.1-meter turning circle. Braking is provided by standard iron discs measuring 420 mm at the front and 370 mm at the rear, with an optional Carbon Silicon Carbide ceramic system featuring 440 mm front and 410 mm rear discs. Wheel options range from standard 21-inch wheels to various 22-inch designs.
At launch, two variants are available: the core Torcal and the Torcal S. The core model delivers 821 PS and 1,194 Nm of torque, achieving a 0–60 mph acceleration in 3.3 seconds (0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds) and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The Torcal S produces up to 888 PS and 1,350 Nm of torque with Launch Control active, covering 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds (0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds) with a top speed of 162 mph (260 km/h). The S variant features distinct exterior styling, including black brightware, unique body panels, red brake calipers, piano black interior veneers, and dynamic ambient lighting.
The exterior design introduces elements such as a long wheelbase, short overhangs, an illuminated diamond grille, and an updated brand emblem. The cabin features a wing-inspired dashboard layout, curved OLED display screens, physical controls, and a Frosted Diamond switchable-glass sunroof. Seating options include 16-way adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation, and extended massage functions, along with optional postural adjustment and climate systems. The rear three-occupant bench incorporates a power-folding mechanism. Available interior materials include certified 100% Merino wool fabric developed with Fox Brothers, Ombré Walnut veneers made from recycled off-cuts, Sunburst Aluminium trim, olive tan leather, Dinamica, and various wood and technical finishes.
Driver assistance and infotainment features include 25 external sensors, cameras, and radars enabling automated reversing in tight spaces, parking assistance, towing guidance, and remote parking via an application. Additional conveniences include four radar-controlled powered doors, an augmented reality head-up display, facial recognition driver profiling, and mobile device key compatibility. Driver selectable settings comprise four curation modes (Bentley, Comfort, Sport, and Refresh) that adjust vehicle parameters, lighting, climate, and driving feedback. A custom synth-acoustic soundscape—developed using musical instruments calibrated to V8 firing patterns—provides audible feedback, supplemented by optional audio packages including a 28-speaker, 1,780W Naim system.
