2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 Launched In India At Rs 5.24 Lakhs!

Kawasaki India has launched the Ninja 500 at the same high price of Rs 5.24 lakhs! This is the same last price the Ninja 400 was sold at. The bike makes its Indian entry along with its rivals of the Aprilia RS 457, Yamaha R3 and KTM RC 390. There is now a bigger gap not just in price, but in performance as well over the Ninja 300 currently on sale with localized parts. The new 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 gets a separate LED headlight. In addition, the Ninja 500 is also equipped with a set of clip-on handlebars for a sportier yet comfortable riding position.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 is equipped with a parallel-twin engine, 451cc capacity. It produces 45.4 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 42.6 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The setup also benefits from a slipper clutch. Kawasaki offers two variants of the Ninja 500 in the international market – standard and SE. The latter benefits from additional features like a TFT instead of an LCD, along with smartphone connectivity, and Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 still sadly telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the brakes comprise a 310mm front and a 220mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The USD forks are truly missed here. These are mounted on 17-inch alloys on both ends. The asking price for the Kawasaki Ninja 500 in America is USD 5,299 (approximately Rs. 4.39 lakh sans taxes). The India pricing is higher yet again. The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 gets more power, equipment over the previous bike, it still does not cut the cake with anything special on offer over its rivals. The Kawasaki loyalist though, can find it impressive. 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 will continue to be a niche bike in the segment.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja 500 go against the likes of the Honda CBR500R internationally. There is the new NX500 in India priced at Rs 5.9 lakhs ex-showroom which makes similar spec, that makes the Kawasaki look like a bargain. Now, with the Eliminator 500 on sale, it will be interesting to see if the Z500 comes to India. The Z500 should be eventually be cheaper considering it is a naked.
