Volkswagen is gearing up to unveil a highly anticipated facelift for the Virtus, as it has recently been spotted undergoing testing ahead of its expected launch in the latter half of this year. The latest images indicate significant updates, including a refreshed front fascia, a new rear design, and stylish alloy wheels. Like its counterparts, the Taigun and Kushaq, the Virtus will also feature enhancements in its interior, such as an updated infotainment system, a revamped instrument cluster, and an industry-first rear seat massage feature.
Perhaps the most noteworthy upgrade is the introduction of an eight-speed automatic transmission paired with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This replaces the previous six-speed automatic and has already been successfully implemented in the Kushaq and Taigun. The engine offers a robust output of 114bhp and 178Nm and will still be available with a six-speed manual transmission.
As the Virtus and its sibling, the Slavia, prepare for their facelift, they face not so stiff competition, especially with the revamped Hyundai Verna that has made significant strides this year by incorporating impressive features like a 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS technology—features not anticipated for the Virtus or Slavia. Features ignored by most buyers according to some surveys.
