Kia has just announced a voluntary recall of 4,358 Kia Seltos. The company said the recall is due to “a potential defect in the electronic oil pump controller, which could affect the performance of the electronic oil pump” in the SUV’s CVT transmission. Kia said it is proactively contacting customers and replacing defective parts on affected vehicle models produced between February 28 and July 13, 2023.
Kia automatic transmission called IVT, equipped with Kia’s 1.5l engine which makes 115 horsepower. The mid-size SUV is sold with two additional engines – 116 horsepower, 1.5-liter diesel engine and 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 160 horsepower – each with its own automatic transmission option.
After the Seltos price revision in January, the SUV is now priced between Rs 10.90 lakh and Rs 20.30 lakh.In India, Kia issued recalls in November 2020, October 2022 and June 2023; The first time there was a fuel pump problem on the Seltos diesel engine and the other two times on the Carens MPV. Carens was first recalled for an airbag software issue, then for an update to the instrument cluster software.
