The Hyundai i20 made its debut in 2008 and has really come of age since then. The premium hatch has gone through massive transformation over the years and currently in its third-generation avatar, this premium hatchback is competing against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz among others in India. 2023 Hyundai i20 seems ready for India now.
Recently the facelift model of the i20 has been spotted testing in India with minimum camouflage. The overall profile of the car was very much apparent and looked like the outgoing model.
The rear of the new upcoming i20 features a similar design to that of the current selling model although the company is expected to make substantial changes in the front fascia of the car.
This means the new i20 will feature new front bumpers, headlamps, and redesigned grille; thereby making a distinct impression on the minds of prospective buyers. The list of features inside the cabin will become more generous as Hyundai is known for offering loads of comfort and conveniences to its target audiences. We might see the addition of front-ventilated seats, Dashcam, all-around disc brakes, and even ADAS features in the upcoming version of the premium hatchback.
It is important to know that the 2023 Hyundai i20 will come only with petrol engine options. Unlike the current model which has the diesel powertrain on offer, the new version will ditch the oil burner as more stringent real driving emission (RDE) norms have kicke in from April 1, 2023. The global launch of new i20 is expected in 2023 and given the importance the Indian market enjoys on the radar of the company, we will see the launch of the new model here in India in 2023 itself.
