Mercedes-Benz has announced the new GLA SUV, featuring updated dimensions including a 20 mm lower silhouette, a 61 mm longer wheelbase, a wider rear track, and an illuminated front grille. In Germany, orders open on 30 July 2026, with starting prices set at 40,840 euros excluding VAT (48,599.60 euros including VAT) for the base electric model.
The vehicle will be available with fully electric powertrains as well as electrified internal combustion options. At market launch in November, three all-electric models will be offered: the entry-level GLA 200 electric (165 kW output with a 58 kWh LFP battery), the GLA 250+ electric (200 kW output with an 85 kWh NMC battery), and the GLA 350 4MATIC electric (260 kW output with an 85 kWh NMC battery). The electric variants feature an 800-volt architecture supporting DC fast charging up to 320 kW, enabling a WLTP driving range of up to 657 kilometres. High-tech 48-volt mild-hybrid combustion variants, featuring a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and an integrated 22 kW electric motor within an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, will follow in early 2027 alongside an additional 71 kWh battery model.
The interior design incorporates increased legroom and headroom, expanded boot capacity (up to 410 litres, or 1,400 litres with rear seats folded), and a 107-litre front trunk on electric models. Cabin features include a standard panoramic glass roof, an optional segment-controlled electrochromic panoramic roof, and the optional MBUX Superscreen comprising a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a 14-inch central display, and an optional 14-inch passenger display. The digital ecosystem is powered by MB.OS, integrating generative AI through an updated MBUX Virtual Assistant, Google Maps navigation, and expanded Level 2 driver-assistance features such as automated lane changing and 360-degree parking support.
