Ather Energy has confirmed that its upcoming electric scooter will be named the Konarc. Scheduled for its official launch on August 29 at Ather Community Day, the Konarc will serve as the first production model built on the company’s new EL platform. Developed using over 2.6 million kilometers of field data, the architecture is engineered to support a variety of vehicle sizes and configurations.
Images from the production line indicate that the final design closely aligns with the EL01 concept previously shown by the company. Key hardware and visual features include a handlebar-mounted headlight, a wide LED daytime running light positioned on the front apron, a 14-inch front wheel paired with a 12-inch rear wheel, and metal body panels—a first for an Ather scooter.
Anticipated to be priced between ₹1.00 lakh and ₹1.25 lakh, the Konarc will sit below Ather’s existing Rizta and 450 models in terms of cost. This positioning places the vehicle directly in the mainstream commuter electric scooter segment, where it will compete against existing market offerings such as the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
