The Mahindra XUV 7XO earned a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection in the Bharat NCAP crash tests, with the rating applying across all variants. In adult occupant protection, the vehicle scored 30.76 out of 32 points, achieving 14.76 out of 16 points in the frontal offset test, a maximum 16 out of 16 points in the side movable barrier test, and an “OK” verdict in the side pole impact test. Driver body protection was rated as good for the head, neck, pelvis, thighs, and feet, while chest and tibia protection received an adequate rating.

In child occupant protection, the model achieved an overall score of 44.97 out of 49 points. This included a dynamic child protection score of 23.97 out of 24 points, a child restraint system installation score of 12 out of 12 points, and a vehicle assessment score of 9 out of 13 points. In dynamic crash testing, the 18-month-old child dummy scored 7.97 out of 8 points in the frontal test, while the 3-year-old dummy received a full 8 out of 8 points; both dummies scored 4 out of 4 points in side impact testing. Standard safety equipment on the Mahindra XUV 7XO includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, traction control, hill-hold assist, and hill-descent assist, with higher trims offering Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
