Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan put out an emotional tweet expressing his gratitude for receiving one of the most memorable gifts of his life. One of the Bachchan friends, Anant gifted him the Ford Perfect vintage car and what makes this gift special is the fact that the Ford Perfect was the first car that Bachchan’s family used to own during the 1950s. Amitabh Bachchan wrote about the car in one of his blogs and taking a cue from that, Anant found a similar model, got it restored to a perfect working condition, and gifted it to the Sr. Bachchan.
To make the gift even sweeter, Anant managed to get the same registration number for the car as borne by the original family car of the Bachchan.
Taking to the Microblogging site, Amitabh Bachchan wrote that he was speechless and struggling to find the words to express his gratitude and appreciation for this present. It was indeed an emotional moment and the intensity of the emotions can be clearly felt from the language and words chosen by Sr. Bacchan in his tweet.
Just so you know, the Perfect was a popular Ford model produced between 1938 and 1961 and came powered by a 1.2-liter engine mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The model was considered as an upmarket version of Ford Anglia and Popular and found favor with buyers thanks to its highly reliable engine and lightweight underpinnings. Ford Perfect also holds the distinction of being the first car that was designed outside the company’s headquarter in Detroit. The popularity of the Perfect can be estimated from the fact that Ford had sold around 200,000 units of Perfect during its life-cycle.
This new addition to the garage of Amitabh Bachchan will bring a retro touch to the otherwise very modern and sophisticated stable of Bollywood Megastar.
