Ather has long been known to be building a family electric scooter to complement its 450 range, and now the company has revealed the name of this upcoming machine. This new product, called Rizta, will also show its appearance through a teaser for the first time.
We see a flat design, similar to the related TVS iQube family in Ather’s 450 sports line. After this, the floorboard appears to be flat and wide, and the scooter looks like it will fit 12-inch wheels on one end. Another element that is immediately noticeable are the extremely long seats, which indicate that Rizta is paying attention to space and comfort.
In fact, the company claims that Rizta takes the lead in terms of comfort and safety. The teaser silhouette looks very similar to the scooter spy shot released a few months ago. These photos confirm that the Rizta does not use a hub motor, but rather a mid-engine like the rest of the Ather line. Other design elements that have been spotted so far are the horizontally shaped headlights and taillights, the chunky rear bumpers, The mirrors are lighter and smaller than the 450 series.
Ather said Rizta will be officially introduced at the Community Day 2024 event scheduled in the coming months.The company also hinted at Rizta’s name and said that the official launch will not be far away as the scooter will be ready to be delivered in six months. When it arrives, expect the Ather to take on the likes of the TVS iQube (Rs 1.34-1.40 lakh) and the Bajaj Chetak Premium (Rs 1.35 lakh).
