BMW has revealed the latest generation long-range X3, which will first be launched in China. It joins the X1 and X5 in BMW’s LWB SUV lineup in China. The new BMW X3 LWB is designed for buyers looking for more legroom in the second row. At 4,865 mm, it is 110 mm longer than the standard SUV and also comes with an M Sport design package on top variants. The X3 L has two engine options and will be built at BMW’s Shenyang site in partnership with Brilliance Automotive in China. It comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 190 hp and 258 hp. Both options come with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
In China, BMW will also sell the standard-wheelbase X3 with the M50 xDrive engine option, which will be imported from the United States. All variants of the X3 benefit from an illuminated grille and a choice of six colours, including a Frozen option.
Inside, the BMW curved display, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and the unique BMW interaction bar on the dashboard. BMW has talked about introducing its LWB SUV range outside of China. The German brand has hinted that it is coming to India with the LWB SUV. SUVs also account for more than 50% of BMW’s sales in India. So this is very important for them. And all options are being considered.
