BMW X7 M50d Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 1.63 Crore

The BMW X7 has received a new range-topping M50d variant in the Indian market priced at Rs. 1.63 crore (ex-showroom India). The new BMW X7 M50d comes to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), unlike the other three variants that are sold in the country which are locally assembled at the company’s facility in Tamil Nadu. The X7 range now starts at Rs. 92.50 lakh for the 30d DPE trim, 30d DPE Signature priced at Rs. 1.02 crore, the 40i M Sport priced at Rs. 1.07 crore and now tops out with the M50d. The new variant not only packs more features but a powerful engine and cosmetic upgrades.

Visually, the BMW X7 M50d gets subtle tweaks the style including an angular front bumper, new air intakes with mesh, body coloured wheel arches and side skirts, and a revised diffuser at the rear with larger exhaust ports. The alloy wheels are different in design, while the SUV gets an M Sport exhaust system, brakes with blue calipers and gloss black finish on the window sills, roof rails and the front bumper.

The cabin also gets an upgrade with more M parts including an M steering wheel, M Sport leather upholstery for the seats as well as M branded illuminated M door sills and floor mats, and pedals. The cabin continues to remain feature-rich that includes the dual 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, gesture control, Laser LED headlights, five-zone climate control, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and a reclining function for all three rows. The SUV is also loaded with a Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Power on the BMW X7 M50d comes from the 3.0-litre six-cylinder, quad-turbocharged diesel motor that develops 400PS and 760Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with BMW xDrive system. The X7 M50d sprints from 0-100 kmph in 5.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The SUV rides on an air suspension and also gets Park Assist, 360-degree camera, ABS with ESC, adaptive cruise control and traction control.

The BMW X7 M50d arrives in India just days before the launch of the new-generation Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV. The German rival gets an overhaul over its predecessor, as it takes the fight to the Range Rover Sport, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q8 and even the Toyota Land Cruiser 200.
