The Best In Class Center of Excellence award is in recognition of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) that are constantly innovating in specific research areas, while also acting as drivers to aid collaborations across business segments. The basis of the award was on a variety of factors that determined how the CoE acts as an invaluable link to enhance organizational value.

Continental’s Autonomous Mobility Radar CoC team which won the award began modestly in 2014 as a support team for the larger set-up in Germany. The team has, since, grown multifold in terms of numbers and competence, and today the CoC functions independently with full ownership of several key topics. This is a key contribution to the autonomous mobility business of Continental and the industry in general, considering Continental’s industry no. 1 position in automotive radars.

Leading from the front

Continental’s second accolade of the year was to recognize the contributions of Dr. Anshu Gupta, who received the Technical Role Model award. Dr. Anshu Gupta has been instrumental in setting up Continental India’s Automotive Radar R&D capabilities with a team that has grown over the years to more than 150 engineers. He is the Global Radar Product Head and doubles up as one of the key driving forces behind ADAS product concepts for affordable segments. Additionally, he manages university collaborations for the business area.
