Ducati Monster 797 India details are here and the bikes comes in three colors and offers good value for money

Ducati, a well-known Italian motorcycle brand famous for its bikes like the Panigale, Multistrada and Diavel is launching an entry level naked sport bike in India, the Ducati Monster 797. This bike is launched in the country and today and is set to offer entry level performance and price tag to its prospective owners. We have all the details from launch.

Ducati Monster 797 Engine And Specification

The Monster 797 will be powered by an 803cc, Desmodromic L-Twin, EURO-4 spec engine that produces a power output of 75bhp at 8250 RPM and a torque of 68.9Nm at 5750 RPM. The engine is the same as on the Ducati Scrambler, but with minimal changes in the crankshaft. Coming to the transmission details, the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that that has a ratio of 1.85:1 and is linked to the wheels by a chain-drive system. The bike comes with a wet slipper clutch.

Ducati Monster 797 Chassis, suspension and brakes

The Monster 797 is built on a tubular steel trellis frame and has an adjustable, 43mm Kayba forks on the front and a Sachs monoshock suspension at the rear with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. The suspension setup is as same as the Monster 821, but has been tuned for a different role here. The bike sits at a height of 805mm from the ground, making it a bit taller than its elder brother, The Monster 821. The Monster 797 runs on 120/70 Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres in the front and rear and has a travel of 5.12 inch up front and 5.91 inch at the rear.

As for the braking, the Monster has a dual-320mm Brembo brakes at the front, with four-pot Monobloc callipers and a single-245mm disc at the back. Dual-channel ABS comes standard with the standard equipment package. Pricing starts at 7.7 lakhs, which makes it the entry level bike of Ducati in India. The prices are post GST and as expected, deliveries start July 1 (Post implementation of GST) Star White Silk, Dark Stealth and Ducati Red are the colors to choose from.
