The Hero Glamour is one of Hero MotoCorp’s best selling commuter motorcycle till date, and was launched back in 2005. The First generation Hero Glamour was one of the very first motorcycle to get a fuel injection system. The Glamour still is one of the top selling 125cc motorcycle in its class and with that in mind Hero MotoCorp has updated the very prominent Glamour 125 with all the new tit-bits. Hero has completely updated the motorcycle, with new design, a new chassis, and a all new engine. The bike is available in both the versions one is the carburetted and the other one is the fuel-injected, well we got our hands on the fuel-injected version as far now and we are here to let you know about how the new Glamour fuel-injected is.

Design

Styling and design plays a very important role these days like we say first impression is the last impression, and to be honest Hero has done quite a good job in terms of designing and styling the new Glamour. The bike carries premium looks and a very stylish design. Up front the bike gets a very large angular and well shaped headlamp, with a bikini fairing. The very well sculpted fuel tank gets well designed extensions with decals on them which add to the sporty looks of the bike and make it look a bit different from the other commuter class.

The side panels merge very neatly with rear of the motorcycle giving it a very proportionate look. Its all in shape and goes quite well with the bike. The best part is the tail section of the bike with a nice looking LED taillight which adds on the sharpness to its rear end and looks pretty good. The split alloy wheel design is quite new, and the rear wheels gets a tyre hugger, which not only helps in looking good but also helps a lot in keeping the muck away.

Speedo and Switches

The instrument panel consists of a part analogue, part digital instrument panel which is quite neatly laid out and offers good readability, showing odo/trip meters, fuel gauge, service reminder, and instantaneous fuel consumption and a reset button to set the trip meter. The built quality here though is not that great as while inserting the key the whole panel shakes and doesn’t seem quite well fitted. Another problem up here is the handle lock, the lock seemed to be jammed and wasn’t easy at all when locking the bike while parking thanks to the mis fit of the panel.

Performance and handling

2017-Hero-Glamour-Fuel-injection-review-12

The new Hero Glamour is powered by an all new, single cylinder, 124.7 cc four stroke engine. It makes 11.4 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The Glamour’s got a smooth and refined engine, and gear shifts are quite slick and precise on the four-speed gearbox. The fuel injected version of the new Glamour the one we rode feels sluggish and hesitates a lot when power is required, one can feel a significant lag in response. Throttle response though is good. The bike handles quite well in the city traffic and is stable enough at highway speeds.

Overall the ride quality is very smooth. The brakes are good for this class of motorcycle, thanks to the standard 240mm disc at the front which give a good amount of confidence while stopping without being grabby. The seat is very well cushioned and wouldn’t be a problem for longer rides, the well-tuned suspensions just take away the speed bumps and let you ride comfortably without any pause. Lack of vibrations is another good sign of Hero MotoCorp working really hard on their commuter segment and trying to up the products. The Fuel injected Hero Glamour delivers around 62 kmpl, which is quite a good number.

Fuel-Injected 2017 Hero Glamour 125cc Review, Verdict

2017-Hero-Glamour-Fuel-injection-review-4

Hero is trying to set up a mark and has upped the game with the new Glamour. Yes there are few complaints about the Fuel injected version being a bit dull at times as compared to the carburetted version. The Fueling on the FI system is slightly jerky, and we believe Hero will sort it out in near future. Overall the bike behaves well and is good package that will be certainly welcomed by the commuter class looking to upgrade from 100-110cc motorcycles to the newly equipped 125cc class.

Prices starting at Rs. 58,896 for the carburetted version and the fuel-injected version coasts about Ra.69,548 both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
