Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) unveiled an expanded Made-in-India portfolio comprising 10 motorcycle and scooter models in Mumbai on July 24, 2026. The lineup includes seven all-new models and three refreshed models featuring updated color schemes. This product initiative reflects Honda’s multi-pathway strategy incorporating internal combustion engines (ICE), electric vehicles (EV), and flex-fuel technologies. The portfolio expansion addresses a shift in the Indian two-wheeler market from purely utility-focused commuting toward lifestyle-driven mobility preferences, backed by increased local product development, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities.
According to Tsutsumu Otani, President & CEO of HMSI, India serves as a strategic manufacturing and export hub for Honda globally. The expanded engineering localization aims to bring global technologies to Indian consumers while maintaining quality, safety, and operational reliability. Mutsuo Usui, Director of Sales & Marketing, noted that the diverse vehicle lineup caters to varied consumer requirements, ranging from daily commuting to adventure touring and leisure riding. To enhance urban riding convenience, select models in the expanded portfolio will incorporate Honda E-Clutch technology, which automates clutch operations during stop-and-go driving conditions. HMSI plans to execute a phased market introduction for the lineup, with pricing, availability, and detailed release schedules announced closer to each model’s market launch.
For urban commuting and alternative fuel solutions, HMSI introduced the Honda ADV 160 and the electric Honda QC3 scooter. The ADV 160 is positioned as India’s first flex-fuel scooter, capable of running on up to E85 fuel via Honda FlexTech. It is powered by a 156.9cc water-cooled engine and equipped with an 8.1-liter fuel tank, 27 liters of under-seat storage, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS, and a TFT display supporting Honda RoadSync turn-by-turn navigation. The Honda QC3 targets family-oriented commuting as a zero-emission alternative, powered by a 3.0 kWh battery that delivers an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range between 145 km and 151 km. The QC3 supports fast charging up to 80% capacity in 2 hours and 40 minutes (full charge in 4 hours), offering 32 liters of under-seat storage, a Smart Key system, and a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with connected features.
The roadster segment features the newly unveiled Honda CB 500 alongside updates to the CB350 modern classic series. Inspired by the historic CB750, the CB 500 heritage roadster is powered by a 501cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine equipped with an oil cooler. It features all-LED lighting, an analog-digital instrument meter, HSTC, dual-channel ABS with front and rear disc brakes, and will be offered in three distinct variants: Alloy, Spoke Tubeless, and Spoke Tubeless with Graphics. Additionally, the existing CB350, CB350C, and CB350RS models receive fresh color options while retaining their shared 348.6cc air-cooled engine platform, all-LED lighting, Honda RoadSync connectivity, HSTC, and dual-channel ABS braking systems.
In the cruiser category, Honda expanded its offerings with the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500. The entry-level Rebel 300 utilizes a low-slung bobber design powered by a 286cc water-cooled engine. It includes an LED projector headlamp, a TFT instrument display with Honda RoadSync navigation, dual-channel ABS, and will be available in both Standard and E-Clutch trim options. Stepping up into the mid-size cruiser segment, the Rebel 500 features a 471cc liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine. The Rebel 500 incorporates similar high-level equipment, including an LED projector headlamp, HSTC, TFT display with RoadSync, dual-channel ABS, and the option for a Standard or E-Clutch transmission setup.
The adventure and dual-purpose lineup comprises the XR 300L and the XR 300 Rally. The XR 300L is engineered for dual-purpose versatility, featuring a 293.5cc air-cooled engine with an oil cooler, lightweight handling, and long-travel suspension designed for both weekday city riding and weekend trail use. The XR 300 Rally builds upon Honda’s rally heritage, incorporating touring-oriented wind protection, rally styling, and a gas-charged Pro-link rear suspension. Driven by the same 293.5cc air-cooled engine with an oil cooler, the XR 300 Rally comes equipped with Honda RoadSync, HSTC, and front and rear disc brakes with switchable dual-channel ABS for mixed-terrain operations.
