Jeep Compass Diesel automatic is the only variant pending, could come as a 2018 model with visual changes as well. We expect more feature list as well
We extensively covered every single time, the Compass has been in the news. For both reasons, right and almost wrong. Recently, the manufacturer rolled out a recall within five months of launch in the country of 1200 SUVs. We have also brought you a lot of spyshots of the Compass before launch first handed and today, our spy photographers in Pune have sent us a spy mule spotted testing of the Jeep Compass with full camouflage.
Jeep either is doing to grab attention or rolling out good amount of cosmetic and interior updates as well. We know which variant is pending and Jeep wants enough hype for it to get those pre-booking numbers and keep the sales chart up and running. Yes, we are talking about the Jeep Compass Diesel Automatic variant which is a pending variant. Jeep told the media that this variant should roll out in early 2018 and it seems they are on time.
A couple of months of testing with the same 2.0 litre diesel engine making 173BHP and 350 Nm of torque. Expect minor changes in the way it works with the 9-speed automatic and delivers more CLAIMED number for fuel-efficiency over the 6-speed manual because we know ARAI numbers are unachievable in the way a normal human being would drive. Will there be a 4×2 or a 4×4 variant with the gearbox is unknown for now. Expect the 9-speed automatic with the diesel motor to be made available in the Longitude and Limited variant (Middle and top variant). Expect pricing to rise by Rs 1.0 lakh over the manual variant and Rs 2.0 lakh when equipped with a 4×4. All of us can see this variant at the Auto Expo 2018 even if its launched before that.
