Aesthetically, the Mahindra Marazzo falls in between the Ertiga and the Innova Crysta in terms of its dimensions. Comparing the dimensions of all the three MPV’s we get to know that, the Mahindra Marazzo is the widest and it also gets the longest wheelbase which measures 2760mm. Hence, the Marazzo is much roomier and gets ample amount of interior space, but a detailed comparison will let us know how it takes on the Innova Crysta in real world analysis.
Moving towards the rear, if all the three rows are up, the Marazzo offers a boot space of 190 litres. On the other hand, the Ertiga offers a boot space of 185 litres and the Innova Crysta offers a massive 300-litre boot. Hence we can clearly know the difference between the three and the Innova Crysta takes down its rivals. But it is interesting to know that both the Ertiga and the Marazzo get a 45-litre fuel tank whereas the Innova Crysta gets a 55-litre fuel tank. In terms of the turning radius, despite the Marazzo being close to the Innova Crysta in size, it offers a turning radius of 5.25 meters which is close to Ertiga’s 5.2 meters turning radius. Whereas the Innova Crysta offers a turning radius of 5.4 meters as it is huge in terms of its competitors.
Mahindra powers the Marazzo with a 1.5-litre diesel which is coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. This diesel unit generates 123 horsepower and 300Nm of torque. The Marazzo is the only MPV among its competitors to come with a single engine option and just a single transmission to choose from. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki POWERS THE Ertiga with both the petrol and diesel engines and the petrol engine also gets an option for an automatic gearbox.
As we are comparing the Ertiga with the Marrazzo we will look into the technical specifications of the diesel engine. This unit is 1248cc diesel unit that generates 90 horsepower and 200Nm of twist. Also, this is the only MPV which also comes equipped with a factory fitted CNG unit.
Talking about the Innova Crysta, Toyota also offers its MPV with both petrol and diesel mills just like the Ertiga. But here customers can choose from two diesel units such as the 2.4-litre diesel motor that comes matted with, a manual gearbox that produces 148 bhp of power and 343 Nm of twist. Currently, the Innova Crysta is the only MPV among the three that gets an option for an automatic gearbox for the diesel motor. And this option is only available on the 2.8-litre diesel unit which churns out 172 bhp of power and 360Nm of torque.
Let’s look into the fuel efficiency or mileage as we all better know it. As the Ertiga being the smallest and lightest among its competitors it also offers the highest fuel economy. The diesel version of the Ertiga offers a fuel efficiency of 24.52 km per litre, whereas the petrol version offers 17.5 km per litre and the petrol-automatic version offers 17km per litre. Just behind the Ertiga is the Mahindra Marazzo which offers a fuel efficiency of 17.3 km per litre from its only diesel unit. Whereas the Toyota Innova Crysta having the larger engines gives out a fuel economy of 15.10 km per litre from its 2.4-litre diesel unit. On the other hand, it also gets a 2.8-litre diesel unit which is coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox offers a mileage of 14.29 km per litre.
Coming down to the most important part of the comparison on paper is the price. Mahindra is offering the Marazzo at a price tag ranging from Rs 9.90 lakh to Rs 13.90 lakh Ex-Showroom, Delhi. In comparison with its competitors, the Marazzo has been placed very neatly in between in the Ertiga (Diesel) and the Innova Crysta (Diesel). Also according to the modern features and the specification available on the Marazzo it is a bang for your buck.
