The Mercedes-AMG CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung is a limited-production, road-legal performance coupe developed by Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach. Positioned as the second vehicle in the company’s Mythos series, production is restricted to 30 units globally, all of which were allocated to customers prior to the official reveal.
Based on the AMG CLE Coupé platform, the vehicle incorporates structural changes to alter its dimensions and dynamics. The body is widened by 60 millimeters (2.4 inches), structural reinforcements have been added, and an integrated roll cage is installed. The overall ride height is reduced by 23 millimeters at the front and 15 millimeters at the rear. Overall curb weight has been reduced by approximately 170 kilograms (375 pounds) to 1,895 kilograms. Weight reduction is achieved through the use of carbon-fiber body panels—including the hood, fenders, roof, side sills, trunk lid, and rear apron—polycarbonate rear glass, a lightweight 12-volt battery, titanium exhaust components, the removal of the rear seats, and reduced acoustic insulation.

The powertrain features a 4.0-liter M177 EVO twin-turbocharged V8 engine utilizing a flat-plane crankshaft. The engine produces 646 PS (637 hp / 475 kW) between 6,000 and 6,250 rpm, and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque from 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. Thermal control is managed by three independent cooling circuits covering high-temperature engine needs, low-temperature charge air, transmission oil, and 48-volt components. Unlike standard models using the 4MATIC+ system, power is routed exclusively to the rear wheels through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled rear limited-slip differential. According to manufacturer specifications, the coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 11.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).

Chassis and aerodynamic hardware include a KW four-way adjustable steel coilover suspension system with independent settings for low-speed and high-speed compression and rebound. The aerodynamic setup comprises a manually adjustable front diffuser, carbon rear wing, and rear diffuser, which together produce up to 250 kilograms (550 pounds) of downforce at maximum speed. Rolling stock consists of 20-inch forged AMG wheels measuring 11J at the front and 12J at the rear, wrapped in 305/30 ZR20 front and 335/30 ZR20 rear tires. Stopping power is provided by carbon-ceramic brake discs measuring 420 mm with 6-piston fixed calipers up front and 360 mm with single-piston floating calipers at the rear.

The interior focuses on functional reduction, featuring carbon-fiber bucket seats, a microfiber-wrapped steering wheel, lightweight carbon door panels, simplified driver-assistance and infotainment functions, and optional six-point safety harnesses.
