Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 Petrol 4MATIC India Launch is yet another petrol engine equipped SUV in the market from the German manufacturer

Mercedes-Benz has yet again launched a petrol engine equipped variant of their popular and newly launched SUV. The GLS 400 4MATIC petrol in India has launched at an a price of Rs. 82.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Mercedes continues with the launching of petrol engine and this is the second option till date. Earlier in the past weeks, we saw the GLE 400 4MATIC launched as well. Mercedes is taking no chances despite the diesel ban has been taken off.

The 2996cc engine produces 333 BHP of power @ 5250-6000 RPM and torque is rated at 480 Nm between 1600 – 4000 which all results in a top speed of 240 km/hr approx. The engine is mated to a new 9-Speed automatic transmission. Mechanical features controlled by electronic includes a DYNAMIC SELECT with 5 modes: Comfort, Sport, Slippery, Individual and Off-road. 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive system, AIRMATIC suspension with Adaptive Dampening System (ADS) and New generation telematics (NTG 5*1).

Interior features list includes, Panoramic sunroof, Full LED headlamps with Intelligent Light System, Adaptive High beam Assist Plus. COMAND Online with 8-inches high-resolution media display makes it to the car. Touchpad along with Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay is available. Mirror package includes brand logo projection. Memory package for driver and front passenger. There is also a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system with 14 speakers included in the package.

Safety features list includes the Pre-Safe system, brake assist, electronic all-wheel drive traction system, ESP with curve dynamic assist. There is also an adaptive two-stage airbags for driver and front passenger. Side airbags for driver, front passenger and the middle row seats which also includes knee airbags.

The 7-Seater GLS is fitted with three-point safety belts for all seven seats. Mercedes-Benz continues an aggressive approach despite whatever the government, customers and criticism it faces. This will make sure the year ending numbers should yet again be in favor of this Stuttgart manufacturer as the competition is still far behind.
