More Weight, Less Power – Jawa BS6 Motorcycle Specification Revealed

Classic Legends have revealed the specifications and prices for the BS6 versions of Jawa and Jawa 42. Output figures of BS6 models reveal that bikes now make less power and torque than outgoing versions. BS4 versions of Jawa and Jawa 42 used to produce 27.37PS along with 28Nm of max torque from the engine displacing 293 cubic capacity in its liquid-cooled, double overhead cam configuration. New BS6 versions carry forward the same engine but the output has been scaled down to 26.51 PS and 27.05 Nm of max power and max torque respectively.

BS6 Jawa and Jawa 42 have added more bulk and according to the spec-sheet, the curb weights of bikes are 172 kg. In comparison, BS4 models weighed 170 kg which means new versions have put on an additional 2 kgs compared to the outgoing versions. Apart from the output and weight, BS6 versions of both bikes remain identical to BS4 models. Jawa and Jawa 42 BS6 are available to prospective buyers in both single-channel ABS system and Dual-channel ABS system configuration.

As far as prices are concerned, Standard Jawa BS6 is offered in three different shades (Black, Grey, and Maroon) and can be had in the range of Rs 1.73-1.83 lakh. Jawa 42 BS6 range, on the other hand, is available in Teal, Red, Blue (Nebula and starlight), Lime, and Green colors with its price range starting Rs 1.60 lakh and peaking at Rs 1.74 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Both Jawa motorcycles are proved to be quite popular in India. They are selling in good numbers and now with the addition of BS6 versions, we expect the popularity of these bikes to receive impetus further.
