MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso RC is yet again a limited edition that will last till 250 units only

Bare with us on the constant relentless details that we share about the design of the new MV Agusta bikes. Similar platform for all bikes and yet they look unique and beautiful doesn’t help us much in not focusing on design. This time it is about touring machines from the exotic Italian brand. This is yet again a limited edition bike which comes with host of features including mechanical and cosmetic.

On the visual front, you get the new ‘RC’-specific racing livery alike the other models of the line-up which is done by using white and red colors along with green in perfect combination to come up with perfect and attractive overall design and appeal. Carbon fiber is used in the deflector on the front mudguard to make it more sporty. Side mounted luggage are here to make things easier for riders to carry things needed. They are designed to integrate with the lines of the bike (How Italian can things be!)

Mechanically, the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso RC is a 3-cylinder, 12-valve DOHC unit that is equipped with MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System). The 798cc petrol motor makes 110 horses at 10150 rpm and a peak torque of 80 Nm at 7100 rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine is now Euro 4 emission compliant. The top speed is a healthy 230 km/hr.

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso RC also comes with an electronic quick shift feature. Electronics also includes Traction control adjustable on 8 levels that can be turn-off completely. Engine maps include Flexible ‘Tourism’, Full-Power ‘Sport’ and ‘Rain’ that limits the power to 80 BHP. Revised Ride By Wire components to make snatchy throttle smoother.

Changes include a new starter motor and the associated gears of the bike have been revised and improve reliability. Something that is very critical to a model that was created to long distances earlier than most motorcycles. Chassis wise you get the new Semi-active suspension built on the basis of the established and reliable ‘Skyhook’ algorithm. Feature list is big and it includes standard things such as Garmin navigation system, two 30-liter side panniers, center stand, adjustable windshield heated grips and cruise control to name a few. Let’s wait for an India launch as a few units could come here to keep enthusiast happy most likely.
