Boreal is the latest step in Renault’s international development strategy. Developed for markets outside
Europe, this new SUV will expand the brand range while also driving growth, consolidating the long-term
presence of Renault in the C segment in over 70 countries.
“In October 2023, we presented our plan to strengthen Renault’s global presence: the Renault International
Gameplan. Relying on five strategic hubs – in Latin America, North Africa, Turkey, India and South Korea – we
are investing €3 billion to launch eight new vehicles outside Europe, with a clear ambition: to double our sales
per vehicle. And we’re taking action!
Boosted by the commercial success of Kardian and Koleos, our sales outside Europe rose by 16.4% in the first
half of 2025.
Today, I’m proud to announce a new chapter in this adventure: Renault Boreal, a true emblem of our ambition
to raise quality and innovation on a global scale, bringing more value to our customers outside Europe and
reinforcing our move upmarket.”
Fabrice Cambolive, CEO Renault Brand
Developing Renault’s C-segment presence on international markets
Renault is the world’s best-selling French car brand, with 1,577,000 vehicles sold in 2024 — nearly 40%
(560,000 vehicles) of which were sold outside Europe. With Boreal, Renault is opening a new chapter for the
brand.
Following on from Kardian, Duster and Grand Koleos, Renault Boreal is a central pillar of the International
Game Plan 2024-2027. As part of this plan, Renault is investing no less than €3 billion to launch eight new
vehicles outside Europe. Five of these are positioned in the segments generating the most value: C and D.
Between now and 2027, Renault is aiming to double unit revenue per vehicle sold outside Europe compared
with 2019.
Developed to win new customers, Renault Boreal shares the DNA of the brand’s latest vehicles. Its role is to
balance the sales mix outside Europe, in line with the strategic shift from volume to value initiated by the
Renaulution strategic plan. Renault Boreal will primarily target the regions where the brand is still under-
represented in the highly strategic C segment. In Latin America, it will address fast-growing demand for family
SUVs, while in Turkey, the Middle East and the Mediterranean Basin, it will be a competitive complement to
the brand offering in regions , where more than one in two vehicles sold is an SUV.
Renault Group’s ultra-flexible modular platform
Inaugurated on Renault Kardian, Renault Group’s new modular platform is ultra-flexible and able to
accommodate a wide range of body styles. This architecture delivers significant savings in development times

while boosting competitive edge, and maximising synergies in markets outside Europe. Further, Renault Boreal
can be equipped with new technologies tailored to each market.
Production in Brazil and Turkey
The industrial strategy for Renault Boreal spans two continents. The Curitiba site in Brazil will produce the
vehicle for 17 Latin American countries. At the same time, the Bursa site in Turkey will build it for 54 other
markets, including Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Mediterranean countries. Building the vehicle close to
its markets will increase logistics agility and optimise production costs.
The deployment of Renault Boreal will begin in late 2025 in Brazil, followed by the rest of Latin America,
Turkey and other markets from 2026.

Premium And High Spec Renault Boreal SUV Revealed

With Boreal, Renault is restating its ambition to become a reference for C-segment SUVs worldwide. From
the outset, Boreal was designed to meet the specific needs of its key markets: Latin America, Turkey, the
Middle East and the Mediterranean basin. In these regions, exterior styling is a major differentiator in the
decision to buy. Cars need to be seen as robust and high tech, conveying a high level of perceived value as
well as social status.

The exterior design of Renault Boreal reflects a clear stylistic vision: a family-friendly prestige vehicle with
instantly recognisable modern, sculptural lines. Renault Boreal is a status vehicle, combining elegant styling
with visible high-tech features.
Boreal adopts the cues of Renault’s new design identity. The styling language is based on flowing bodywork,
with generous curves and tension lines, balanced by more structured technical features that express control
and dynamic performance.
A roomy interior designed for families
Positioned at the heart of the C-SUV segment, Renault Boreal is a car of flattering proportions: 4.56m long and
1.84m wide. The body is well balanced, with a long wheelbase (2.70m) and short overhangs for greater
interior space and a more dynamic look. It stands 1.65 m tall, with a roof sloping slightly towards the rear.
Combined with continuous glazing and a subtle roof trim, the body lines give the vehicle a flowing, dynamic
look, without sacrificing interior space.
A front end enhanced by a new lighting signature inherited from the Niagara concept
Renault Boreal is a vehicle of immediate presence, with a high, horizontal bonnet, a full body-colour grille
featuring the “Nouvel’R” logo and a new lighting signature, recognisable at first glance with additional LED
modules that embellish the vehicle and make it look wider. Another distinguishing feature at the front is he
LED headlights extending towards the wings, with additional modules to reinforce the vehicle’s visual stance.
The sides are structured by a strong beltline with generously curved wings, contributing to the prestige looks.
The wheel arches are accentuated by plastic protectors of clean, uncluttered lines, conveying both strength
and sophistication.

Renault Boreal is shod with 19” alloy wheels, for easy driving in both the city and on the open road. It also
features a two-tone roof with contrasting black paint, aluminium skid plates, a panoramic sunroof and roof
bars.

On board Renault Boreal, every detail contributes to a modern, connected driving experience, underpinned
by strong, emotional design. In the same way as the vehicle exterior, the cabin features all the cues of SUV
design, with sophisticated features and high-quality materials.

Renault Boreal features innovative interior styling. In the cockpit, the dashboard resembles that of Renault 5
E-Tech electric and Renault 4 E-Tech electric, with the OpenR dual horizontal screen. The first screen facing
the driver is a generously sized 10-inch digital instrument panel, displaying a full range of driving information.
The central multimedia screen also measures 10 inches. This layout creates an environment that is both high-
tech and fluid, drawing attention to connected functions while reducing the driver’s cognitive load. The control
panels offer an ergonomic layout, with a compact e-shifter, a multifunction steering wheel with a sober,
elegant cover and backlit metal buttons.
A unique lighting ambience
The lighting ambience is fully customisable, with LED mood lighting in 48 colours. Lighting transitions can be
controlled automatically depending on the mode selected in the Multi-Sense settings, for total sensory
immersion.
Attractive materials designed to last
The quality of the interior is enhanced by the use of attractive, durable materials. The top sections of the
dashboard gain soft-touch upholstery, contributing to the feeling of comfort and sophistication. Decorative
inserts around the cabin feature laser-engraved patterns that play with the reflections of the ambient lighting.
Depending on the version and country of sale, the seats are upholstered in Blue for the Latam region and Pure
Cool Grey for Turkey, with contrasting top-stitching.

Renault Boreal places the emphasis on comfort with power front seats including position memory and driver
massage. Ingenious storage compartments around the cabin meet the everyday needs of families on the
move: cubbies, a closed, refrigerated central console, 2 USB-C ports at the front and an induction charger. For
added comfort, Renault Boreal is equipped with dual-zone automatic air conditioning.
At the rear, the 40/60 seat includes a central armrest with the Easy Break function (handle in the boot) for fast
folding. At the same time, rear passengers have access to special ventilation nozzles and two USB-C ports.
The generously sized boot has a load capacity of 586 litres (1,770 litres with the seats folded). Boreal also has a
low load sill for easy handling of loads.

Renault Boreal takes the in-car connected experience to new levels. Based on the electronic architecture of
Renault Group’s new international modular platform, Renault Boreal is a digital extension of users’ daily
lives, with a native Google environment.

Renault Group has developed a completely new modular platform for markets outside Europe, to support the
Group’s strategy of “vehicles on demand”. This unique technical base makes it possible to design vehicles with
a range of dimensions, features and technologies, closely matching the expectations of customers around the
world.

Inaugurated with Renault Kardian, this ultra-flexible platform is already demonstrating its adaptability. It can
accommodate urban models such as Kardian (4.11m long, 2.60m wheelbase, 1.77m wide) as well as vehicles in
the next segment up, such as Renault Boreal (4.56m long, 2.70m wheelbase, 1.84m wide), without
compromising on dynamic performance or on-board comfort.
One of the main assets of this platform is its new-generation electrical and electronic architecture. Designed to
be fully compatible with current and future regulations, it paves the way for the integration of high added-
value in-car technologies. Renault Boreal offers a practical demonstration of this approach, as the first brand
vehicle to offer the Google Automotive Services ecosystem outside Europe.
A native Google environment
At the heart of this approach is the OpenR Link multimedia system, based on Google’s in-car services. This
package forms a unified interface that is easy to access and consistent with the way customers already use
their digital tools. Google Maps is natively integrated and displayed on both screens, with real-time traffic
information and automatic updates. Google Assistant lets users control navigation, music, calls and climate
control simply by voice command, without taking their eyes off the road. Over100 apps are available from in-
car Google Play, including partner apps and previews: not only – of course – optimised navigation tools such
as Waze, but also the world’s best radio stations with Radioplayer for Renault, high-definition music platforms
such as Amazon Music, the best video streaming platforms such as Prime Video and HBO MAX, a unique

musical game for all the passengers such as Songpop for Renault and Internet access with the Vivaldi browser.
More unique features can be expected in the future.

Designed to accommodate future upgrades, Renault Boreal receives remote over-the-air (OTA) updates for
both the infotainment system and driving aids. Its in-car connectivity also enables smart maintenance, with
alerts, vehicle monitoring and maintenance recommendations sent directly via the interface or the My Renault
app.

The connected maintenance service will allow customers to extend the life of their model and maintain high
standards of safety for all those on board:
 Vehicle maintenance: customers can track maintenance directly from the My Renault app and book an
appointment at the most convenient time.

 Personalised notifications: if the vehicle requires particular attention for any reason, customers receive
an alert by e-mail, text and the My Renault app, allowing them to contact the support desk or view
user guides. They can also run a vehicle check-up in real time from the My Renault app. [1].

An app for a better connection with your vehicle
My Renault is an app that lets users interact with their vehicle remotely: lock or unlock doors, start the engine,
pre-heat or pre-condition the cabin, locate their vehicle or receive security alerts in the event of an attempted
break-in. Advanced functions, such as monitoring abnormal use (speeding, crossing geofenced areas) or PIN
code access protection, complete a digital package designed to deliver a simpler and more reassuring driving
experience.
An immersive sound experience
Renault Boreal ships with a Harman Kardon Premium sound system, developed through a close partnership
with Jean-Michel Jarre. This exclusive system features ten loudspeakers with acoustic settings customised for
the type of ambience selected. The result is exceptional: faithful, vibrant surround sound, designed as a
mobile soundstage.
The experience is completed by five exclusive ambiences: Studio, Immersion, Concert, Club and Lounge. Jean-
Michel Jarre’s involvement extends far beyond simple artistic endorsement. He guided the entire process of
acoustic design, from the positioning of the loudspeakers to the software tuning, in order to deliver a sound
journey of advanced precision, on a par with Renault’s high-tech DNA.

DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS: SAFETY AND COMFORT ON
EVERY JOURNEY
Reflecting the brand’s commitment to improving safety for drivers, passengers and other road users
worldwide, Renault Boreal stands as a reference for active safety and driving comfort, with a range of
driving aids (ADAS) that is particularly comprehensive for this segment.
Up to 24 driver assistance systems
Making full use of the electrical and electronic architecture of its platform, Renault Boreal ships with up to 24
advanced driver assistance systems, one of the most comprehensive offerings in its segment.
In terms of safety, many of the driving aids on Renault Boreal are a first in this segment on some markets, in
particular:
 Lane Departure Warning (LDW): an audible signal or vibration in the steering wheel warns the driver if
the vehicle strays from its lane.
 Lane Keeping Assist (LKA): if the vehicle drifts out of its lane, this function corrects the steering to keep
it on course.
 Front and rear sensors with Emergency Lane-Keeping Assist (e-LKA): this function countersteers the
vehicle in critical situations such as the presence of an oncoming vehicle, dangerous overtaking
manoeuvres, or a risk of veering off the road. The system alerts the driver and keeps the vehicle in its
lane to reduce any identified risk of collision.
 Blind Spot Warning (BSW): this function detects the presence of any vehicles (cars, lorries, two-
wheelers, etc.) to the rear and side of the vehicle and determines whether there is a risk of collision. If
this is the case, a light in the rearview mirror on the side concerned warns the driver.
 Occupant safe exit alert (OSE): this function uses the two rear side sensors to detect vehicles
approaching from the rear. If a vehicle is present, a visual and audible signal warns the occupants.
 Reverse Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA): when reversing out of a parking spot, the rear side sensors detect
any approaching vehicles in the vehicle’s path and warn the driver.
 Emergency Stop Assist (ESA): this function can slow the vehicle to a stop in its lane (if possible) if the
driver remains inactive when Active Driver Assist is activated.
 Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEBS): this function warns of a risk of collision and can activate
braking if the driver fails to react.
Other driving aids complete the package, including Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) and Driver Drowsiness and
Attention Warning (DDAW).

Active Driver Assist
For even greater comfort, Renault Boreal features level 2 driving assistance. This system combines intelligent
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Lane Centering Assist, enabling the vehicle to stay on course and maintain
a safe distance at all times, even in traffic jams.
Easier parking and manoeuvres
A full range of driver aids makes parking easier and safer. Renault Boreal makes light work of parking
manoeuvres with Hands-Free Parking technology, complemented by four cameras for a 360° panoramic view
as well as front, rear and side ultrasonic perimeter sensors. As a result, the vehicle manages manoeuvres itself,
whether parking in reverse or at an angle, without the driver actually touching the steering wheel.
Efficient LED lighting in all circumstances
The package is completed by visual aids based on technologies from further up the market Adaptive full LED
headlights improve night-time vision and protect other road users, while high beam and cornering assist
optimise visibility in all conditions.

Premium And High Spec Renault Boreal SUV Revealed

Renault Boreal is part of an international strategy, addressing the regulatory, economic and
environmental realities of its markets. In Latin America, the 1.3 TCe turbocharged engine with EDC dual-
clutch transmission is fully in line with this approach.
A modern, efficient internal combustion engine meeting high standards of performance
With its modular design, the platform developed by Renault Group is able to accommodate a wide range of
powertrains. This makes it possible to adapt the powertrain range to the specific features of each market,
depending on local usage, regulations and customer expectations.

Right from launch in Latin America, Renault Boreal will ship with a new-generation internal combustion
engine. This 1.3 TCe turbocharged direct-injection powertrain is available in petrol or Flex Fuel versions
depending on the country, particularly in Brazil.
This is a highly efficient powertrain developing up to 163 hp for the Flex Fuel version, 156 hp for the petrol
version in Latam and 138 hp for the petrol version in Turkey. It delivers torque of up to 270 Nm in Latam
and 240 Nm in Turkey.
Depending on the version, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.26 seconds, making it one of the best in
its segment on the markets where the vehicle is sold.
Combined with the Stop & Start system, this fuel-efficient and responsive powertrain delivers real driving
pleasure from day to day, with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Outside Latin America, Renault Boreal may subsequently ship with other powertrain/transmission
combinations, complementing the initial range. This flexibility illustrates the Group’s ambition to adapt its
vehicles to each geographical area, without compromising on performance, efficiency or driving pleasure.
A dual-clutch transmission developed for specific markets
This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed automatic double wet clutch EDC for smooth, responsive driving,
linear performance and outstanding driving pleasure from day to day. First introduced on Renault Kardian,
this double wet clutch technology is a major competitive advantage in Latin American countries, as it
optimises clutch cooling while increasing service life.
A new smart mode for an even higher level of customisation with Multi-Sense
Renault Boreal ships with the Multi-Sense system, allowing users to adapt the driving environment to
reflect individual preferences and conditions. A new Smart mode is now available alongside the four
existing modes, Eco, Comfort, Sport and MySense.
Smart mode uses intelligent algorithms to automatically adapt vehicle settings – steering, engine response,
lighting, soundscape – to the driving situation, delivering a smooth, personalised experience, whether in
town, on the motorway or on a road trip. Working in synergy with the 48-colour mood lighting, it seems as
if the cabin is responding to the driver’s emotions. In this way, the Multi-Sense system lets drivers
personalise their driving experience.
