Pune’s Techo Electra Motors Introduces New Electric Scooter Range

There’s a new electric mobility start-up in town and Pune’s Techo Electra Motors plans to provide a range of scooters for commercial and personal mobility under its brand name. The company currently has four models on sale – Neo, Raptor, Emergy and Saathi. The Neo is the brand’s most affordable offering and priced at Rs. 43,000, while the Raptor is priced at Rs. 60,771. The Emerge is the most expensive at Rs. 72,247. In addition, Techo Electra Motors has also introduced the Saathi electric moped that is a commercial electric scooter and is priced at Rs. 57,697. The prices are on-road, Pune.

All four scooters are differently styled with the flagship Emerge designed as a retro offering with curved panels and a Vespa-design. It is also more feature-laden and comes with an LED headlamp, digital instrument console, USB charging, and alloy wheels. The Raptor and Neo come with a sporty design theme and look more conventional too. The Raptor and Emerge also come with reverse assist apart from the features on offer.

The Neo, Raptor and Emerge draw power from a 250 watt BLDC motor. The Neo and Raptor use a 48V 24AH lithium-ion battery that promises a range of 55-60 km on a single charge. It is also rechargeable in 2.5-4 hours. The Emerge uses a larger 60V30AH lithium-ion battery that promises over 100 km on a single charge and has a recharge time of 3-4 hours. All three models get telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. The Neo and Emerge get a front disc and rear drum brake set-up, with the Raptor using drum brakes at either end.

Techo says its Saathi electric scooter is best suited for small businesses and transport needs and for last-mile delivery. Saathi is powered by a 48V 26Ah lithium-ion battery pack that offers a range of 60-70 km on a single charge. The battery takes up to four hours to charge fully and the cost for a 60 km run is said to be around Rs. 12 at 1.5 units consumed per charge. Hardware on the Saathi electric moped include tubeless tyres, alloy wheels with drum brakes, telescopic forks and high-strength steel chassis. The feature list comprises LED headlight, central locking system, anti-theft alarm, smart repair function, and a basket to carry luggage. Techo is offering a three-year warranty for the battery, while the motor and controller warranty is listed for one year. The new Techo electric scooter range will take on the offerings from a number of players including Okinawa, BGauss, Ampere, and many more.
