Electric scooter manufacturer, River, has rolled out the 10,000th Indie scooter from its factory. This milestone comes just 22 months after the rollout of the first Indie.
Known as the SUV of scooters, Indie has built a strong consumer base across Indian cities. In April 2025, the brand crossed INR 100 crore in revenue and 1000 units monthly sales since launch.
Commenting on the milestone, Aravind Mani, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of River, said, “Rolling out the 10,000th Indie today was a proud moment for us. This milestone reflects the demand that Indie has generated for itself. It gives us great confidence as we go forward. By March 2026, we aim to have over 100 stores and a new factory to accommodate a range of products from River.”
The first Indie was rolled out on August 25, 2023, from the company’s manufacturing facility in Hoskote, Karnataka. The 120,000 square-foot plant features automated assembly lines for battery packs and vehicle assembly, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 units.
River currently operates 27 stores across 15 cities, including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Visakhapatnam and many others. The company recently launched new outlets in Pune, Vijayawada, and Trivandrum, with further expansion underway. By September this year, River will have at least one outlet in all the prominent cities across the country through a mix of company-owned stores and dealerships.
