Tata Motors’ highly anticipated electric vehicle from the premium Avinya brand has been spotted undergoing its testing phase for the first time. Set to debut in the Indian market in 2027, this camouflaged prototype has an elegant design that stays true to the original concept. The images highlight its clean lines and extended wheelbase. Notably, it features retractable door handles and large, aero-optimised alloy wheels fitted with low-profile tyres. The Avinya EV resembles a slightly elevated estate, showcasing a long hood, a gently sloping roofline, and a hatchback at the back.
Its front boasts a split headlamp design, potentially incorporating an LED light bar along with vertically aligned LED headlamps situated on the bumper. At the rear, you’ll find wraparound LED taillights complemented by a stylish roof spoiler. Initially, the Avinya range was slated to feature JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), but Tata has now confirmed that it will utilize the Chery-JLR Freelander platform instead. The Avinya is straight answer to the Hyundai Ioniq and Kia EV6 which aren’t doing well for the company like most EV products in its portfolio and the Avinya will take over the mantle likely without breaking a sweat.
