Sensing the ongoing strong demand for the electric vehicles in the country, TVS has allocated Rs 1000 crore for developing a range of new electric propositions for its future portfolios. The list of new products includes electric scooters, bikes, and three-wheelers. In the scooter category, the company might launch the product based on the Concept Creon that it showcased at the Auto Expo in 2018. Recently, a test mule having a similar design was also spotted in India, fueling the speculation that it is on its way to the Indian market very soon.

The company already sells iQube electric scooter in the Indian market and recently introduced the updated model with range of new color options and added features and extended range. In comparison to iQube, the upcoming Creon-based electric scooter is likely to have more dynamic and sharper styling. It will feature maxi-style and compete on the basis of its outright performance unlike iQube which is primarily utilitarian in nature. The upcoming scooter will also come with a large instrumental cluster and more premium features to lure buyers from the higher-income category.

The riding position is expected to be set in the favor of comfort and the seat will be wide and long for making journeys comfortable. In terms of performance, the concept shown at 2018 Auto Expo came with triple battery capable of putting out 12kW of max power. TVS claim the range of 80 km back then with 0-60 kmph coming in just 5.1-second.

The updated iQube comes with double battery pack which is IP67 rated for the warranty against water and dust and the upcoming scooter from TVS might utilize this battery pack although with its own shares of tweaks and modifications. iQube features a range of 145 km and can achieve 0-40 kmph in just 4.2-second. The upcoming scooter is also likely to feature a range of connectivity options including the geofencing, live vehicle tracking, anti-theft alert, navigation assistance, and proactive diagnosis among others.
