Mercedes-AMG recently released teaser images for its upcoming electric SUV, marking the brand’s first fully electric SUV and its first SUV built on a dedicated AMG architecture. Design details from the teasers reveal three-pointed star headlight and taillight signatures, a closed-off front grille with a full-width lightbar, large side intakes, roof rails, and a sloping, coupe-like roofline. The vehicle is expected to utilize the AMG.EA 800V platform, which is currently featured in the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.
While official specifications remain unconfirmed, it may offer the dual-motor or tri-motor configurations seen in the GT models, potentially paired with the same 106 kWh battery. However, actual acceleration and range figures are anticipated to be slightly lower than its sedan counterpart due to the SUV’s larger dimensions and increased weight. Upon release, the model is positioned to compete in the high-performance SUV segment against vehicles such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, BMW XM, and Aston Martin DBX.
