Volkswagen is continuing its naming strategy with its next model: following the ID. Polo and ID. Cross, the new ID. Tiguan will arrive at the markets in the beginning of 2027. The established name is intended to provide customers with clear orientation and stands as a strong product brand for a clearly defined vehicle concept. The new ID. Tiguan will succeed the ID.4 and ID.5 and will be offered alongside the Tiguan with combustion and hybrid powertrains. The world premiere of the ID. Tiguan will take place in early October. Until then, the model will continue testing under camouflage wrap.

A strong product brand. The importance of SUVs in this segment for Volkswagen is illustrated by the following figures: The Tiguan is currently the best-selling model worldwide for both the Volkswagen brand and the Volkswagen Group. In the past year alone, deliveries of the Tiguan and its sister model, the Tayron, exceeded one million units. Both models are available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. In the all-electric segment, the ID.4 and its fastback counterpart, the ID.5, are also highly successful. With more than 950,000 units delivered since 2021, they rank among the most successful battery-electric vehicle (BEV) model series of Volkswagen AG.
