2017 Aprilia SR125 will lower the price of the moto-scooter by a subtle margin to make more attractive as the formula has worked for Piaggio towards success

Aprilia, an Italian two-wheeler company famous for its racing bikes, has set a standard for itself in the automatic scooter segment. After the successful launch of the SR150 and SR150 Race, the company is now planning to release the SR125 in India. The scooter was spied by our reader in a dealership near Bangalore. The main difference can be found at the right apron, where the 125 stickers is placed and the rest looks are identical to its bigger brother.

The scooter is built on a tubular steel frame which has reduced the weight to 122 kilograms and has a very good suspension system. The scooter houses telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided spring coil at the rear. Tyres include a 120/70, 14’’ alloys both on the front and the back, that has a good road grip

2017 Aprilia SR125 Engine And Specification

The scooter is powered by a 124cc single cylinder, four stroke engine that produces a power of 9.46 bhp and torque of 8.2 Nm and is mated to a CVT gearbox. The scooter should have very good acceleration that will be linear and smooth.

The scooter is aimed to be around Rs. 65,000 Rupees which can be considered the best in the segment. The scooter, once launched can be a hit in the market because of its styling and performance it offers.

As we move on to the electronics, the instrument cluster is the same as the SR150. The instrument cluster features a speedometer, fuel indicator, low-oil level indicator, high beam indicator and turn indicator. The scooter also has a decent boot, which can fit only a small helmet.

Competitors for this bike are Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Ray ZR and Mahindra Gusto 125.
