In what will bring cheer to enthusiasts and seekers of performance and technology, ŠKODA AUTO India announced more product actions in the form of offering the 1.5 TSI engine in the value-for-money Ambition variants of both the KUSHAQ SUV and SLAVIA sedan. A long-awaited move for Kushaq owners while the Slavia owner’s wait was a bit lesser.
Before this update, the 1.5 TSI engine was only available with the Style and Monte Carlo versions of the KUSHAQ and the Style trim of the SLAVIA. The 1.5 TSI is powered by an advanced 1.5-litre EVO-generation, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine making 110 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is one of the most powerful and torque-laden engines in the segments the KUSHAQ and SLAVIA compete in.
With the introduction of the 1.5 TSI in the Ambition trim, ŠKODA AUTO India further ups its ante on customer satisfaction and customer centricity, by making the product range more accessible and attracting more enthusiasts who are interested in performance, efficiency and a dynamic driving experience. Numerous innovative and technical advancements in this powertrain enable very low fuel consumption, low emissions and high performance.
The turbocharger features variable vane geometry, which produces more torque at a wider range of engine speeds. The segment-first Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) in the 1.5 TSI automatically shuts down two cylinders under a low load, further reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The update also sees the cars meeting the new RDE (Real Driving Emission) norms and will also be compatible with e20-blended fuel. These enhancements also improve fuel efficiency by up to 7%.
Further, customers can now opt for the Dual Tone paint options that were earlier only available in the higher variants. With the SLAVIA 1.5 Ambition, customers can choose between a Crystal Blue shade with a black roof and a Carbon Steel shade with a silver roof. Buyers of the KUSHAQ 1.5 Ambition could choose between a Honey Orange shade with a black roof and a Carbon Steel coloured body with a silver roof.
