Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. sales in the domestic & international market for January 2026 stood at 71,066 units, compared to 48,316 units during January 2025. Reports suggest that Nexon and Punch have outguned competition and the sales are in line with analysts prediction that sub four meter SUV’s will take more benefit from the lowering of GST rate for them which also applies for sub four meter hatchbacks and sedans. Tata is present in all three segments with its Nexon, Punch, Tiago and Tigor. The Tigor part of fleet business has just entered with CNG and petrol option while retaining boot space.
Mahindra & Mahindra today announced that its overall auto sales for the month of January 2026 stood at 104,309 vehicles, a growth of 24% including exports. In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 63,510 vehicles in the domestic market, a growth of 25% and overall, 104,309 vehicles, including exports. The domestic sales for Commercial Vehicles stood at 27,656, a growth of 22%.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recorded its highest-ever monthly domestic sales of 59,107 units in January 2026, registering a 9.5% year-on-year growth. HMIL also achieved its highest-ever total monthly sales of 73,137 units in January 2026, with a robust year-on-year growth of 11.5%, including monthly export sales of 14,030 units with year-on-year growth of 20.9%. Most of the numbers come from the Aura now available with factory fitted items for fleet operators.
