The long-wheelbase versions are extremely popular in India. We have a number of examples where the companies have ventured with long-wheelbase versions of their standard models and recorded massive customer turnouts. Some of such prominent examples include BMW 7-Series, Mercedes S-Class, and Audi A8. Even below the top of the luxury line, offering such as Mercedes E-class and Skoda Superb (both of which is based on long-wheelbase version) are selling like the hotcakes. Given the chauffeur-driven target market segment, the importance of enhanced rear legroom for buyers can be easily understood.
