The entry-level electric car market in India has just begun to expand with the offering of Citroen eC3 and MG Comet make its entry in India. Pitted against the established names of Tiago EV and Tigor EV, Citroen eC3 and MG Comet has to do a lot of hard work to lure buyers to its fold. In other words, they have got their work cut out. In this specification-comparison review, we pit Citroen eC3 and MG Comet against Tiago EV and Tigor EV to find which one of these performs best on the paper:

1) Dimensions: Unsurprisingly, Tigor EV is the longest in the lot owing to its sedan credentials although on the crucial aspects of cabin width, height, and wheelbase. Needless to say, the MG Comet is small of the lot. the eC3 triumphs over both Tata cars. eC3 is the widest and tallest and features 2540mm of wheelbase (1540mm and 90mm more than Tiago and Tigor respectively). This translates into better cabin space that, in turn, boosts the overall comfort and convenience for passengers, a big plus that is sure to attract a lot of target customers to the eC3.

2) Electric Powertrain: Thanks to the biggest battery pack, Citroen eC3 offers the longest range of 320km certified by ARAI (5 km more than Tiago EV and Tigor EV). The power and torque output are the highest in the Tigor EV with rated figures at 75PS and 170Nm. Note that Tata Tiago features two battery capacities, i.e., 19.2kWh and 24kWh with the latter putting out 75PS and 114Nm. The charging time and DC fast charging timing for all three contenders are almost similar without having discernible differences with having a few minutes here and there. MG comet numbers, as seen on the spec sheet are on par.

3) Feature Comparison: All three vehicles here come equipped with features such as digital instrumental cluster, height adjustable driver seat, and full wheel covers among others. Tata cars have got automatic climate control and leather seats in top variants while eC3 offers the largest 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Tigor EV is the only EV here that offers a corner stability control feature to buyers. MG Comet has connectivity offers and a far more quality cabin than all these three cars.
