FB Mondial HPS 125 Spotted testing for the first time in India – Launch could happen within a year if the company plans an entry into the Indian market

Italian motorcycle manufacturer FB Mondial brand is planning to get its models down the Indian street. The FB Mondial HPS 125 Hipster was recently spotted near the Automotive Research Association in Pune facility, indicating that the motorcycle might be in for homologation purpose.

The HPS 125 is a retro style cafe racer inspired by racing bikes produced by the Italian moto makers during the 1950s. The HPS stands for Hipster. The bike was spotted without any camouflage except for a small piece of tape covering the brand logo.

The bike comes with a typical classic flair with a muscular fuel tank, classy clour scheme, circular headlights, flat handlebar, leather saddle with contrast finish, beautiful chrome finished dual barrel exhaust system, eccentrically mounted circular instrument console(fully digital), spoke wheels and good knobby tyres which completes the look of the scrambler.

The 125 cc scrambler is powered by a liquid-cooled single cylinder DOHC, 4-valve fuel injected engine sourced from the Piaggio group. The powerplant produces 13.59 bhp of power at 9,750 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

At the front the HPS 125 Hipster uses a a adjustable 41 mm upside down fork to take care of the front suspension while the rear uses adjustable dual gas-charged shock absorbers. The front fork has 90 mm of travel while the rear offers 120 mm. Braking duties are carried by a 280 mm petal disc with a four-piston calliper at the front. At the rear there’s a 220 mm petal disc with a single piston calliper.

The bike weighs 130 kg (dry)and carries a fuel tank capacity of 9 liters. The cool looking motorbike is shod with 100/90-18 upfront and 130/70-17 rear tyres. The HPS 125 scrambler is likely to enter the Indian market soon by appointing an official distributor to itself.

There is no such official word on when will the HPS 125 arrive and at what price range. However the bike is an attractive product and could turn out to be a very good leap in the rapidly expanding Indian motorcycle market. Stay tuned with us for latest motoring news and updates.
