Ford is introducing new apps to its Infotainment System to heighten feature list and provide more accessibility to its customers

Ford’s SYNC AppLink, an award-winning infotainment system has introduced five new apps to the Indian market that have taken voice-controlled infotainment system to another level. The five new apps are Hungama Drive, InShorts, Maps by MapMyIndia, Accuweather and Pparke.

Hungama Music
Streaming on the go has now become one of the most popular ways to consume music, but smartphones can lead to the driver getting distracted from driving. With Hungama Music from Hungama, a renowned music streaming app, and SYNC AppLink, Ford owners can now stream music without their phones. This feature will help to reduce distraction through phones

As Indians consume an average of 12 hours a week in travelling, staying up to date is always a priority. InShorts app will help Ford owners to read out what is going around the world in a simple way by the touch of a button

Maps by MapMyIndia
From popular hangouts to essential utilities, Maps by MapMyIndia app helps Ford owners to explore more and enable them to navigate to the nearest attraction, fuel stations, hotels and other points of interest. To minimize distractions, the app helps navigate to any destination using spoken and textual driving directions, thereby preventing drivers from looking at their smartphone while driving.

Accuweather is a weather forecast app with millions of users in India. The app is now available with SYNC AppLink to provide Ford owners weather information on the go and be aware of the weather ahead of their journey.

Finding a place to park has emerged as another big contributor to stress amongst Indian drivers. The SYNC AppLink now features PParke app that enables Ford owners to not just identify the closest parking lot but also provides full address, distance from the current location, number of parking spots available and the price to park.

All of these apps can be integrated through SmartDeviceLink, the open source software on which SYNC is built. It helps app developers to integrate their apps with the vehicle display. The SYNC platform is available on all of the cars in India— Ford Figo, Ford Aspire, Ford EcoSport, Ford Endeavour and Ford Mustang.
