The launch of Honda Activa 7G is on the cards and although the official announcement in this regard has yet to be made by the company, speculations are rife that the debut will happen in this year only. In this article we explore the possible scenario related to Active 7G’s launch and the possible alterations the scooter will feature in its latest avatar.
Honda Activa is one of the most loved scooters in the country. The company launched Activa 5G in 2018 while the 6G version of the scooter came in 2020. Now it is being speculated that Active 7G will make its debut in the Indian market this year and the following are the key changes that might surface on the latest iteration of the gearless scooter.
In terms of design, expect the Activa 7G to feature sharper styling with edgy panels and a sophisticated silhouette. There will be a new headlamp and tail lamp assembly too that should add more zing to the overall design of the scooter. The changes in the dimensions are unlikely to happen though seats and the cushioning might go under the knife.
We won’t expect any comprehensive change in the engine and transmission as Activa 7G is likely to continue with a 109cc BS6 petrol engine capable of putting out 7.7bhp and 8.8Nm. Honda could tweak the engine to deliver more performance as well as fuel efficiency which is currently rated at 45kmpl. The CVT is likely to be carried forward for channelizing the power to the rear wheel. Other mechanical hardware such as suspension system and braking mechanism is also likely to be continued from 6G model to the new 7G model.
Honda is known for its premium pricing and Activa 7G is likely to cost higher than the price of the currently selling 6G version of the scooter which starts at Rs 87,000 (on-road, Mumbai). The upcoming Activa 7G might get launched in the market at a starting price of Rs 95,000 which will make it quite an expensive buy in its segment.
