Honda HRV India will be the premium compact SUV that will go against the likes of established rivals in the category
Honda is all set to play a game which can be either risky for them or very fruitful indeed. India has been deprived of premium products since a very long time from Honda. Infact, whatever premium products were there in the market were pulled out also. Obviously there is news that each one of them is coming back with a bang to meet the current demands. Demands of the new consumer are everything + a great price. To make sure that happens, Honda will have to work hard on its localization, something that the brand is achieving quite well with its new cars.
For example, the BRV and Jazz hatchback. To next entrant in this category could be the new HRV SUV, which seems to be in works and is coming to India. BR-V isn’t enough to take on its rivals and the 7-seater layout does not make it go ahead against its key rival because of many reasons. Will HRV be able to make that cut? Will it take on serious rival from Hyundai and Renault. Let’s have a look!
Honda HRV India Engine Gearbox and Mileage
Honda will make sure they save a lot of the money they intend to pass on the customer here. The sharing of the 1.5 petrol and 1.5 diesel units will make sure that the value for money quotient is alive and kicking. The 1.5 petrol will make 115 BHP of power and 145 Nm of torque. The diesel unit on the other hand will make 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Petrol should deliver 15-16 km/l and diesel will deliver around 22-23 km/l.
Honda HRV India Chassis, Suspension and Off-road
Monocoque construction will be seen on the HRV and it will not have four-wheel drive system for some time, even after launch. Front wheel drive SUV with 17-inch wheels and Mc pherson struts at the front and torsion beam at the rear will make sure it saves cost and provides the right balance of ride and handling expected from every Honda. Disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear will make sure there is enough stopping power.
Honda HRV India Design and Dimensions
The reason HRV will surely succeed is the way it is styled. It is a handsome looking SUV with great proportion, couple like roofline along with clever use of lines everywhere. Super chunky tail lamps, a very modern grille by Honda standard at the front makes sure it looks good. Sporty rear, just about enough height which gives a tall stance will make sure the SUV appeals to the head and heart.
