Hyundai New Six SUV To Hit Indian Market will target each and every segment right from rivalling the Maruti Ignis to the Mahindra Scorpio

Hyundai Motors India has mastered the compact SUV segment with its Creta. When launched back in 2015, the car gathered laurels for its value for money proposition. It was packed to the brim with features and came with the Hyundai brand’s backing.

Now, however, Hyundai wants to expand into the SUV space. In the coming years, Hyundai will be launching as many as six new SUVs and crossover in various size and price segments. Hyundai knows that there is a huge want of SUVs above and below the Creta both – price-wise and size-wise. According to Hyundai this is a great opportunity as many customers might want to upgrade from the Creta and are looking for the same after-sales experience and brand value.

The Korean brand’s Carlino compact SUV was recently spied testing in the country. The Carlino will be positioned below the Creta. This means it will go head to head against cars like the the Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and the Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Hyundai has also let out speculations that a micro SUV is also due for its India debut. It is very likely that this car will rival the likes of the Mahindra KUV 100 and other crossovers like the Honda WR-V and Ford Freestyle.

Done with the sub-compact and compact SUVs? Wait as Hyundai will launch pricier and big-size SUVs. As of now, the only car above the Creta is the Tucson. The Santa Fe was phased out due to its low sales. With the Santa Fe brand not being a fan-favourite, it is unlikely that Hyundai will re-introduce it.

So to rival big SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour, Hyundai will possibly introduce a new SUV altogether. They recently revealed the Grand Master concept. Since details of this car are very scarce, we won’t get to see this one in the flesh at least till the end of 2021. Another big step by Hyundai will be the introduction of the electric SUV – the Kona. India will see the introduction of the Kona when EVs start selling in full swing.
