The Mahindra XUV700 has been commanding an extensive waiting period ever since its launch. Apart from the fact that the model received massive booking numbers, supply chain constraints remain a grim reality in the auto sector and that means the waiting period on the XUV700 stretched well up to 19 months and beyond. However, the waiting period is finally going down on the XUV700 and some variants can be delivered in about 2-3 months. Moreover, certain variants have seen a price drop too.

The Mahindra XUV700 has seen a price cut of Rs. 6,000 on the petrol AX5 5S MT, AX5 7S MT, AX7 MT, AX5 5S AT, and AX7 AT. The diesel variants including the AX5 5S MT, AX5 7S MT, AX7 7S MT, AX5 5S AT, AX5 7S AT, AX7 AT, and the AX7 AWD AT are also now cheaper by Rs. 6,000.

The XUV700 lost some of its equipment last year on select trims. The AX3 does not get a rear wiper and defogger anymore, whole the selective unlock function for the doors and bootlid is removed too. The AX5 and AX7 variants skip LED sequential indicators, and adaptive cruise control with stop and go functions. The features can still be had on the AX7 and AX7 L variants.

As per dealers, the Mahindra XUV700 petrol MX, AX3 and AX5 variants can be had in a period of two to three months. However, the diesel variants continue to witness most demand and the waiting period has stretched to about 10 months. Right from the start, it’s the top-spec AX7 L trim that has seen most demand on the XUV700. This particular variant is only offered on the diesel and the wait for this remains the longest at about 15 months for AX7 and 16 months for AX7 L.

Mahindra is dispatching about 6,000 units every month but the automaker has received overwhelming demand for its flagship. However, the dispatches are higher than last year and as the global supply-chain issues stabilise, production is also expected to improve going forward.
