The new generation Himalayan 452 seems to be facing chassis breakage problem yet again. In the last two weeks, we have now seen two cases of Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 chassis damage. The first incident from Bengaluru, the bike is less than six months old. The driver who recorded the video said he drove the bike on the side of the road, and moments later, the motorcycle’s frame broke. I was disappointed with the quality of the bike.
A bike costing 4 lakns plus rupees on the road, ins’t expected to behave like this, said the customer. Similar issues arose with the previous generation Himalayan, which Royal Enfield claims to have rectified later. Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is marketed as a touring adv motorcycle. However, with a weak chassis, the bike can’t seem to withstand the pressure of hard core off-roading. Rider safety is heavily compromised as there is nothing one can do save themselves in situations like this.
Update: 10-06-2024 – 22:53 PM – A new update on this confirmed by multiple sources now suggests that the customer had a fitted aftermarket crash guards which have very likely damaged the main chassis and hence ended up in this situation.
