Tata motor shows signs of a big comeback as it is on the tail of Honda Car India in the country to snatch the position. This happened earlier in June 2017 as well
If there is a company that is coming back into the market with full force, aggression, strategy and pouring a lot of money and losing some of it in the process, that is Tata Motors. Their products in the sub four meter category have made everybody take notice. Rival manufacturer are finally seeing themselves being caught in the action as their sales are being transferred to this once popular brand which is carving its niche with its product, but went ahead and gained volumes as well. A profitable move for the future, which is yet to be bear fruits for Tata Motors. Nexon recently shook the market as it was priced quite well, but not very aggressively like other sub four meter products because it offers a lot of passive things such as features, four-cylinder engines and six-speed gearbox.
Automatics aren’t far away which should further takes thing ahead for the brand. However, this time the numbers have spoken again. It is not Nexon, but the Tiago which continues to do 10,000 units whereabouts and this time it did, in the month of September. Nexon, did help it gain significant gain over Honda as total sales went by a big margin of 1100 units. Unlike last time, where the gap was a close call. Hexa too is helping the manufacturer gain traction.
A segment where it ruled long time back, it is showing signs of improvement and stability with its pricing as it still is a good proposition against its newly launched rival, the Jeep Compass. Honda has also had a runaway success with the WR-V and is doing well. However, that doesn’t seem enough to stop Tata or push them back. While Tata has 5 launches till 2021, Honda doesn’t have much to offer as a new product, but we can expect refreshes and the Honda brand badge to help it sustain.
